Wow, all that KFC you’ve been eating were once dinosaurs!
My wife is probably my #1 source of ideas for stuff I write about. From profound stuff about being a stay-at-home-dad to random realizations about how we were always judging people by their LinkedIn profiles, she always has a way of sparking my next writing idea.
The other day we were getting our son ready to go out and he happened to be putting on a t-shirt with a dinosaur on it — one of his many dinosaur-themed clothes.
My wife matter-of-factly says,
“It’s quite amazing that dinosaurs ended up evolving into the modern-day chicken.”
I, ignorantly, assumed she was kidding and went, “Yeah, right!”
She was surprised at the fact that I wasn’t aware of this well-known scientific fact. I even challenged her when she insisted it wasn’t a joke. She quickly proved me wrong — thanks to the encyclopedia called Google.
After all these years of studying science, being a computer engineer, and whatnot, my wife had made me feel dumb by this appalling, apparently well-known, revelation.
