I Stalked People On LinkedIn, And I Am Ashamed of It

I was asked one question, and it all changed

My best friend from high school recently told me about a “self-awareness” course he took online and how it helped him realize certain things about himself. As a follow-up to that course, he decided to run a similarly structured course of his own to spread the knowledge.

This wasn’t him pawning off someone else’s content as his own but this was one of those “pay it forward” types of courses where doing this was legit, if not even the natural next step.

So, I decided to sign up, as one member of the first “guinea pig” cohort — his first as the teacher vs. a student.

There were 4 other folks on the Zoom call, each of who I knew by name, but not much beyond.

So my friend started off with a round of introductions and asked us to give a brief response to the “introduce yourself.”

None of us had gone in preparation for this. The last time I answered such a question was in an interview 11 years ago. So I didn’t have a script ready, nor did the others.
