Those Saying “Great Resignation Caused a Talent Shortage, ” Meet Outsourcing 2.0
There’s a global income inequality far bigger than America’s
I recently wrote a story about the Great Resignation and how it might be a knee-jerk reaction that might have its own repercussions.
The basic “realization” it talks about is that life isn’t as rosy after you quit a job and either start out on your own or jump ship to a job with better rewards. The article gained more traction than I’d anticipated and like anything that goes viral, received both positive and negative feedback.
The crux of the negative feedback has been around the following premises:
- Corporate America is an unfair place that underpays its employees, and it deserves to be deserted until there is fairness in wages and other employee benefits (including universal healthcare — a popular pain point).
- People don’t need big companies or employers to make a decent living as long as they can use their skillsets to make their own money instead of making profits for companies.
- The “talent shortage” that is being caused by the Great Resignation is real and companies will need to get their act right to be able to replace the talent — as people are “willing” to be unemployed than…
