Some Hard-hitting Medium Facts Noone Told You
Sorry to break the “positive vibe” but consider it a favor
I love the fact that Medium is a writers’ community like no other where everyone is willing to help each other share tips and tricks for the greater good.
But, in doing this, there is just far too much information out there, and a ton of it is based on ONE article or statistically insufficient data and is misguiding a lot of new writers.
Additionally, it is filling the readers’ suggested stories with the same type of crap that is all over the platform. Some of the recent stories I have read have been amazingly positive and encouraging but based on inaccurate information.
And I learned quite early in life that bitter truths are much more useful than sugarcoated lies. I am going to burst some bubbles here, whether most folks like it or not.
I base this all on learnings from 15 months, 400 odd written stories, and 1000s of stories read as a platform member, and a former editor.
