Remember how everyone was talking about the Great Resignation not too long ago? I wasn’t much different, but I was trying to predict what would come next — maybe I was right, maybe I was wrong — we haven’t crossed that bridge yet.

However, putting our crystal balls away (only for a minute), we do know something that has now replaced that trend — here and now.

There’s a new buzzword in town — it’s called “Quiet Quitting.”

While the term in itself may be confusing — it isn’t really about quitting at all. It’s about simply doing what everyone should have been doing long ago.

Quiet Quitting refers to doing your job and what’s expected of you at work — nothing more and nothing less.

Well, then why is it a “buzzword” if it’s actually pretty standard? Well, the idea is that you stop going above and beyond and stop going that extra mile. You focus back on your life and treat work as just that — work, and not let it take over your life.

So Quiet Quitting is really an exaggeration for doing what you should have been doing all along.
