My World Had Changed Forever Over 24 Hours
It was still the same, and yet so different
I only remember seeing light when my gaze fell on a room filled with people I had never seen before. Everything before that feels like a blur. I am not sure what really happened.
Where am I? Why am I in a hospital room, and who are these people? Why did this old woman greet me with a “Good morning! How are you feeling?”
Why is everyone looking at me as if I was a newborn baby opening my eyes for the first time? This is weird.
“Honey, that’s your son, Adam. And this is your granddaughter Mia.”
What’s wrong with this lady? Who is she? I don’t have a son — this man is almost as old as my baby daddy. And I have a daughter the age of Mia. Where is my little girl Shanaya? This is all absurd. Someone needs to call my dad, he must know what is going on.
“Honey, I’ll send Adam home, Jen is already at home getting everything ready for your welcome. You and I can then get an Uber home after the formalities are all done. I am so glad you’re feeling OK, and the surgery was a success!”
Surgery? I’ve had surgery? Ah, I do recall something vaguely, something had hit me real hard before…
