My High School English Teacher Was Murdered in Cold Blood
A triple-murder case that shook an otherwise peaceful city.
We’ve all got this one teacher who has the most impact on your school years — whether it is through her contribution to your learning, or even more so in your development as a person.
For me, and some of my closest friends, this teacher was our English teacher, Ms. Shibani Singh, who taught us English from class 8 to 10. While she was one of the strictest teachers around, she was also a master at teaching the language to all of us the right way. Being an Indian, English was only our second language, to some even a third. Yet, of course, it was the “international” language you must learn to do well professionally in the future, and what you learn at school goes a long way and becomes the foundation for your future learning.
The most memorable moment was when she once brought our assignments, and specifically gave a shoutout to me and two of my closest friends, for having written essays in class 9 that were worthy of class 12 students. She had also shown our essays to our principal, who was also the English teacher for class 12, and she had some great things to say about them.
