I have been reading Jeffrey Archer’s Harry Clifton series of books recently — starting from Only Time Will Tell, to all the great sequels he has brilliantly penned.

All these books are centered in the era of World War II and hence from the world of fiction, I often get transported into the world of history and the epic war that has dictated so much of the modern world dynamic.

If you have ever even dabbled into the fascinating history of the wars, you would know that America wasn’t really an active part of the War until a certain event occurred.

It was the Imperial Japanese Navy that did a surprise pre-emptive strike on the US naval base at Honolulu in December 1941 — famously known as Pearl Harbor.

That was it.

Whether the US liked it or not, it was their war. And the rest is history.

What does all this have to do with the topic of this article? How are we even close to talking about superheroes?

Well, that is exactly the point. Global superpowers like America are the superheroes of the world landscape, and Marvel and DC have just the right character for each.
