I Am Trying Out a No-Click Detox — You Should too!

All my internet feeds need a reset — it’s harder than you think!

I am just like most of you reading this. The last thing I do before I shut off for the night is check my phone, and most often the first thing I do when I wake up is to check my phone.

I hate to admit it, but it’s true, as it is for a vast majority of people out there.

I don’t have much in terms of social media — no Instagram account, no Tiktok, a barely-active-Twitter, a dormant FaceBook account. Yet, there’s enough for it to make my phone the first and last thing to grab my eyeballs every day.

I can only imagine how much worse it is for people with all those accounts and more.

That, however, isn’t even a huge problem. The problem is the content I am constantly fed.

I might be looking at a staycation one weekend, and all Mr. Google then does is show me pop-up ads of crazy vacations all the time. A little window on the left, a tiny hidden window on the bottom right, and an interruption to my next YouTube song — it’s all a vacation.

Until I click on a typical clickbaity article about how someone made a million dollars from an online side-gig. And then, it’s a bombardment of side hustle articles and…
