If you look at it on paper, Gavin Smith seemingly had a perfect life. He was a college basketball star with UCLA and part of the NCAA championship-winning team in 1975. He then went on to become a small-time actor and a stuntman in Hollywood, before joining 20th Century Fox, one of the leading film studios as an executive, and spent 18 years there.

Meanwhile, he also had a lovely wife, three kids and had bought a house in California.

If you could put “living the dream” on a paper — it would look quite close to Gavin Smith’s life. After his planned retirement from the job at Fox Studios, he planned to return to acting — with his striking good looks and industry contacts, that wouldn’t have been very hard either.

However, before any of those dreams could come true, his life would take a strange turn and he’d go missing, only to be found dead over two years later.
