Deemed “Too Old To Be Violent,” Released Murder Convict Kills Again

Old habits die hard, they say. If the habit relates to troubling behavior of constant violence and abuse against women, it isn’t one to be taken lightly.

Yet, the judicial system of America failed to foresee a crime that could have been easily avoided.

Albert Flick was an army veteran who was known to be a “good man” but had a troubled childhood of violence, which probably left scars in his own mind.

The first time this troubled childhood manifested itself into a serious crime was already a bit too late.

Back in 1979, his wife, 35-year-old Sandra Flick served him divorce papers and had the police escort her out of her apartment.

The fact that she had the police over when handing him the divorce papers indicates she probably expected him to not accept the divorce particularly calmly.

However, Sandra made a mistake a few weeks later. She asked Albert, her now ex-husband, to come over and collect his belongings.

Albert came over, but not to claim his belongings but the life of his ex-wife as he couldn't possibly accept a woman to leave him on her own terms.

Albert stabbed Sandra to death, as Sandra’s 12-year-old daughter from a previous relationship watched through a crevice from the next room.

The young daughter called her neighbors who called the police and Sandra was able to tell the neighbor that Albert had stabbed her, just before she breathed her last.

The case was simple — police even found Albert’s knife in the living room and were able to make an arrest.

The jury found him guilty and sentence him to a 30-year jail term in 1979. Sandra had been stabbed 14 times while Albert told her that he didn’t want to hurt her and that he loved her. A crime of revenge and passion.

However, in the year 2000, 21 years into his sentence, Albert was released on good behavior.
