Dear Medium AppDev Team — Did You Test This App At All?
Am I the only one who thinks this updated app is utter crap?
About a decade ago when I completed my computer engineering, I learned a few things about coding. Testing your code is probably more important a step than the actual coding itself.
You could think you conceptualized it all perfectly and that it is sure to work, but you will only know the flaws when you actually execute.
The same way when creating an app or an update on an app, the key part is the testing phase before pushing it live.
It seems that “our friends at Medium” decided to completely skip this step when they updated their mobile app with rather significant changes. Most changes are supposed to be for the better, but this app has me pulling out all my hair.
I have started to wonder if these flaws are bothering just me or if I need a phone upgrade or if I am just technologically challenged so I am going to list out my issues and see if others are facing them too.
#1 — I can’t seem to upload an image
There were already major flaws with the adding image function on the app.
a) You couldn’t directly search from unsplash as you can on the browser ;
b) if you endes up making the effort to download and store an image on your phone, you weren’t able to add the captions to properly cite it.
