In October of 2013, Guy Heinze Jr. (referred to as Guy or Heinze from here on) was convicted of killing eight of his family members, including his father, and was sentenced to death with no chance of parole. Prosecutors decided not to seek the death penalty as part of the deal with the defense that allowed to substitute one of the “problematic” jurors with another one, a substitution that likely helped achieve the guilty verdict.

Heinze was convicted of beating eight members of his “family” to death in a cramped mobile home.

The evidence and the circumstances surrounding the case have been murky, and many people still believe that Heinze may be innocent.

The Night of the Murders

At approximately 8:15 am on August 29, 2009, police received a 911 call from a 22-year old Guy Heinze Jr. He claimed that his whole family had been beaten to death. The call was made by his neighbor on his behalf who is heard to be talking to the 911 operator in a clipping on the internet.
