For every kid in India that grew up in the 1990s, television was an integral part of their daily routine. Every evening, most Indian families would get together and enjoy one of the very few options of TV soaps, and the lengthy commercial breaks in between.

This was the perfect opportunity for companies and brands to become household names. One such brand was the Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate, arguably the most well-known chocolate in India for the past 3–4 decades.

One of the most iconic ads for the chocolate bar used the perfect formula for success in India. Have a look and I’ll explain then for those of you who may not be familiar with the Indian landscape.
