When the victim turns into a criminal, the boundaries of right and wrong get blurred. Revenge is often something that can drive people into committing actions they would otherwise never have thought themselves capable of.

Moreover, while revenge is a great “motive,” it may not always be enough to prove that someone actually did something just because they were desperate to seek revenge.

The story of Michael Keetley is one such story where a crime led to another crime more than a decade ago, and the judicial system isn’t still sure as to who was guilty of it.

The attack on Keetley — The start of it all

On Jan 23, 2010, while driving his ice cream truck, Michael Keetley was the target of an armed robbery and he was shot multiple times by unidentified assailants.

The shooting left him with injuries all over his body — including on both his hands as well as a shot in his back.

What followed was a long and torturous path of recovery from the attack including a series of surgeries. The bullets in his right hand potentially left…
