As a movie buff, I am a firm believer that Slumdog Millionaire was the worst thing to happen to India’s image. Its global success meant that all the wrong kinds of stereotypes about India were reinforced.

Bollywood or the Indian film industry is arguably only second to Hollywood in its global influence and reach.

Of course, Korean drama takes the cake when you’re talking about shorter formats / TV series / OTT but on the big screen, Hollywood and Bollywood still reign supreme.

It is all thanks to Netflix and the broader OTT platform rise that the world has access to content from all over the world. But, we often don’t know what to watch. I always struggle when it comes to foreign-language films in figuring out what will really suit my taste.

For that reason, I’ve decided to put together a list of Bollywood / Indian movies for you to watch — and a bit of a look into what is on offer without any significant spoilers.
