The thing with exceptionally brilliant minds is that they need to be channeled into the right direction because if they aren’t, the consequences can be dire.

Ted Kaczynski was one such child prodigy whose brilliant mind resulted in him going off the rails and causing mass destruction in the United States of America. So much so that he would become the longest and most expensive manhunt in FBI’s history at the time.

Background and Childhood Brilliance

Ted Kaczynski was born in Chicago in 1942, to Polish American parents. Ted was a happy child until his smartness became the cause of his loneliness and potentially a huge factor in how his mind developed in the impressionable years of childhood.

Ted was always a brilliant child, but he was social and fun until the time he tested an exceptionally high 167 on an IQ test, and as a result, was able to skip the sixth standard at school.
